![]() I’ll admit that the lack of teleporting between areas is quite the inconvenience, leaving you to drive down the same stretch of road repeatedly. Enjoy the ride as you listen to Torque constantly screaming at you over the many explosions that will certainly come.Įasily the standout DLC of the original game, this expansion brought a fantastic, challenging adventure for the vault hunters. The only thing that I did not enjoy about this DLC was how the final boss worked, but that’s a minor thing compared to how the rest of the game went. The story of you fighting your way up to the top of the tournament’s leaderboard is a blast, joined along with a number of amusing sidequests and activities. However, it’s the icing on the cake for what is a very entertaining DLC. ![]() Really, I could have ranked this as high as I have for him alone. Torque is an amazing character, let’s get that out of the way. It doesn’t really do anything ambitious as a whole, the story and characters do enough to make this an entertaining final expansion for the first game. There are plenty of jokes throughout and the chance for improving your character via a treasure room and earning skill point rewards is there. Making fun of the strange ending of the original game, we find a goofy story to enjoy as you are taking down this rogue Claptrap unit to stop his revolution. Despite that, for Gearbox’s first outing, it was a good sign of things to come.Ĭlaptrap’s New Robot Revolution is a fun time, that is to be certain. That just became increasingly long grind and wasn’t particularly entertaining. Borderlands 2 captain scarlett dlc raid boss series#Probably the only real downside was a series of side-quests where you collected brains from the zombies you killed. It utilizes its subject matter well and the environments are fun to explore as you search for new treasures and enemies. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is nice. It’s not a particularly long expansion, but there is a nice bit of humor and personality throughout. The first DLC of the original Borderlands offered a nice bit of fun, providing a visual splendor that broke you away from all the desert wasteland that you traversed in the main quest. There are some nice, unique rewards that are given as part of your adventures in this DLC, but unless you routinely go after the raid bosses, you won’t find much reason to return here once your finished. The two raid bosses that are also a part of this DLC have little to do with the environment. The story is completely forgettable, the locations are rather dull and the final reward is only decent, depending on your luck. ![]() The new vehicles are fun to drive, but the quest itself doesn’t live up to the potential that could have been done. Like Hammerlock’s DLC, this suffers from being a rather dull adventure. A pirate theme in Borderlands 2 could have really worked, but little was done outside of reskinning many of the enemies we had already faced in the main game. Unfortunately, what we do have is a lot of wasted potential. This one could have actually been a lot of fun if it was executed correctly. It is more polished that Scarlett’s DLC, but it’s still a far cry from what we had seen from the series before and after this.Ħ. There is little else I can remember from it to be honest. New enemies are appreciated, but more could have been done with the potential this expansion had. The environments really aren’t anything too memorable, though they are an improvement from Captain Scarlett’s DLC. However, there is little in the way of humor and Nakayama isn’t a great villain. Joining Hammerlock on Aegrus does bring some nice possibilities and is arguably the most challenging DLC of Borderlands 2’s expansions. Outside of that, there is really no way to recommend this.īig Game Hunt isn’t a bad DLC as it is just boring. The only real use for this DLC was the Bank, where you could store items you didn’t want to lose. Once you complete the one mission and are given your reward, there really is no incentive to enter the arenas again. All that you primarily had was a complete grindfest of DLC that really wasn’t any fun to play. Yes, you would get some loot after every few rounds, but it was never worth the time. The formula was just completely contradictory of what made Borderlands fun. Shoving a Horde mode into Borderlands did not work at all. There is no question that the Underdome is the worst DLC from the two games. ![]() ![]() With that out of the way, let’s get started. I am not counting the Headhunter DLCs as a part of this as they are considerably smaller and don’t add much to the main game. With a combination of going through Borderlands 2 once again and the Pre-Sequel launching soon, I thought I would just share my thoughts on the major DLC expansions of the first two games. ![]()
